Robert A. Indovina
AIA, Principal
Rob is a founding Principal of Indovina Associates Architects, established in 1978, and has led the completion of nearly 3,000 architecture, interior design, and planning projects. He holds a Master of Architecture from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Architecture with Distinction from Penn State, including study in Florence, Italy. A Registered Architect since 1975, he is licensed in nine states and is a corporate member of the AIA. His work has received multiple awards from the AIA, the Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation, the Master Builders Association, and the International Masonry Institute. He is a past Chair of the Pittsburgh Art Commission, a member of the City’s Contextual Design Advisory Panel, and an NCARB certificate holder. His portfolio includes major cultural, residential, hospitality, and university projects throughout the region.


Ryan D. Indovina
RA, LEED AP, Principal
Ryan earned dual B.A. degrees in Architecture and Art History from Rice University before returning to complete his Bachelor of Architecture. He began his career with Richard Meier & Partners in Los Angeles and Thomas Phifer and Partners in New York, contributing to national and international projects across design, project management, and construction administration. Ryan joined Indovina Associates in 2008 and became a licensed Pennsylvania architect in 2011. He is a LEED Accredited Professional and an NCARB certificate holder. His work on the Brochstein Pavilion has received multiple honors, including an AIA National Honor Award, an AIA New York City Chapter Honor Award, Best of Texas Construction recognition, and Merit Awards from both AISC and ASLA.


Brian E. Kaminski
AIA, LEED AP, Principal
Brian received his Master of Architecture from the University of Washington after earning degrees in Philosophy and Psychology from the University of Scranton. He began his career in heavy and civil construction, later working in residential design in the Pacific Northwest before joining Indovina Associates in Pittsburgh in 1995. A licensed Pennsylvania architect since 2000, he is an AIA member, a LEED Accredited Professional, and an active participant in several community organizations. His work spans residential, hospitality, mausoleum, and preservation projects, with recent emphasis on historic tax credit work and building envelope performance.


Martin A. Busser
AIA, NCARB, ParkSmart Advisor, Principal
Martin received his Bachelor of Architecture from Penn State in 2002, where he helped develop a 3-D virtual reality lab, and began his career working on K–12 educational projects and gaining field experience with Foreman Construction Managers. He joined Indovina Associates in 2003 and is now a Principal overseeing all phases of project development while also contributing digital renderings, website design, and physical models. A registered member of the AIA and NCARB, his work spans multi-family housing, public amenities such as the Pittsburgh Zoo, and extensive parking-structure design, earning him a reputation as the firm’s parking specialist.


Luna E.L. Fruensgaard
MAA, LEED Green Associate, Design Principal
Luna, a native of Denmark, holds an M.A. in Architecture from The Royal Academy of Architecture and Design in Copenhagen and a second M.A. in Architecture with a sustainability focus from Carnegie Mellon University, supported by grants from the Fulbright Foundation and several Danish foundations. She began her career at Vandkunsten in Copenhagen, contributing to competitions, schematic design, and residential projects across multiple scales while developing strong skills in 3D visualization, graphic design, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, and GIS. She joined Indovina Associates in 2015, working on residential, multifamily, and interior design projects.


Dario E. McPhee AIA, Associate
Dario earned his Master of Architecture from Florida A&M University after completing his B.A. in Architecture at Ryerson University, where he was recognized for academic excellence, design achievement, and award-winning work in the Ontario Wood Works competition. With professional experience in both the Bahamas and the United States dating back to 2003, he has worked across all phases of architecture on projects ranging from multi-family housing and hospitality to restaurants and cultural facilities. A strong designer with a keen artistic sensibility, he expresses his creativity through both architecture and painting. He joined Indovina Associates in 2013 and is now an Associate at the firm.


Bry West-Whitman
RA, NCARB, Associate
Bry earned his Bachelor and Master of Architecture from Tulane University and brings extensive experience in cultural arts facilities, particularly university music and performance centers. His portfolio also includes major international work, serving as project lead for façade detailing at Entisar Tower in Dubai and as a façade consultant for the New International Airport in Mexico City. A licensed architect in Pennsylvania with NCARB certification, he integrates sustainable technologies and environmentally responsible strategies into his designs. Bry and his wife, Reagan, are active members of the Lawrenceville community in Pittsburgh.


Elle K. Wray AIA, Project Architect
Originally from Syracuse, NY, Elle earned her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Miami in 2011 before returning to New York to join Ashley McGraw Architects, where she worked on K–12 projects from early planning through construction and became a licensed NY architect in 2015, supported by the AIA New York State ARE Scholarship. In 2017, she moved to Washington, DC, practicing at HOK as an Associate Project Architect and leading large teams in the technical development of complex, multi-typology projects. She relocated to Pittsburgh to be closer to family and joined Indovina Associates in 2024.


Ryan J. Doran
MRIAI, LEED AP BD&C, Project Architect
Ryan earned his Bachelor of Science in Architecture in 2007 and his Master of Architecture with concentrations in Urban Design and Historic Preservation in 2008 from The Catholic University of America, graduating magna cum laude and participating in Tau Sigma Delta, the Cardinal Patrick O’Boyle International Studies Program, and CUA CSI. He has broad experience across the US and Ireland, working on multi-unit residential, commercial, senior living, educational, athletic, ecclesiastical, and mixed-use projects. Ryan is a member of the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland, a Registered Architect in the Republic of Ireland, and a LEED Accredited Professional BD+C.


Sara Capobianco
Project Architect
Originally from southern Italy, Sara grew up near Matera and later earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in architecture from the Polytechnic University of Turin, graduating in 2018 with a focus on sustainable design and gaining additional experience through studies in Oslo and London. She began her career in Milan with BMS Progetti and COIMA Image, working on historic restorations, contemporary offices and residences, competitions, and residential fit-outs—developing a design approach rooted in careful detailing, material clarity, and spatial balance. A registered architect with the OAPPC in Italy, Sara relocated to Pittsburgh in 2025 and joined Indovina Associates, bringing a strong international perspective to the firm.


Annabel M. Hnath Architectural Designer
Annabel graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Architecture and a minor in Architectural History. At the Stuckeman School, she was nominated for Design Excellence and the Corbelletti Design Charrette, and volunteered at the Palmer Museum of Art, supporting student engagement programs. Since joining Indovina Associates, she has contributed to multi-family and commercial projects, assisting across all phases from schematic design through construction administration.


Elana R. Sacher
Architectural Designer
Elana earned her Bachelor of Architecture from Syracuse University and previously worked in Austin and Washington, D.C., with a focus on multi-family and affordable housing. She is committed to creating thoughtful, human-centered environments that balance clarity, usability, and meaningful design. Since joining Indovina Associates, she has contributed to a range of residential and commercial work, including projects at PPG Place, McKnight–Cranberry, Midwood 21st Street, and 524 N Euclid, as well as custom residential efforts such as the Brown Residence deck, the Bittel Residence barn, and multiple Costello projects on Pearl Street, N Highland, and Roup Street.


Bennett M. Spencer
Interior Designer
Originally from Pittsburgh, Bennett earned her Bachelor of Interior Architecture from Chatham University in 2025. Her studies included a residency at the Fallingwater Institute, participation in the IDCLPA’s Hill Day, and membership in NEWH and NOMA, along with receiving the 2024 MAPS Scholarship. Her Capstone project centers on retrofitting a historic Hill District elementary school to improve accessibility and support neurodiverse students. She joined Studio Lokken in February 2025 and is expanding her experience in technical drafting, visualization, and design development.


Patty A. Junker
Office Manager
As an integral part of Indovina Architects since its inception, Patty brings unwavering dedication and a deep sense of pride to the firm she helped build. A Pittsburgh native, she embodies professionalism in every aspect of her work and serves as the steady, welcoming presence at the heart of the office.

Linda J. Indovina
Real Estate Manager
A proud Pittsburgh native, Linda oversees all aspects of real estate and building management for Indovina Architects with exceptional care and expertise. As the matriarch of the Indovina family, she brings wisdom, steadiness, and a strong sense of stewardship to everything she does.
Outside the office, Linda is an avid traveler with a passion for exploring the world, having visited dozens of countries. Her leadership, global perspective, and lifelong dedication make her an essential force within the Indovina community.

Emily A. Patterson
Operations Manager
With more than 20 years of experience in finance and accounting, Emily is a detail-oriented professional recognized for her precision and analytical strength. She holds an AA in Business Administration from Florida State College at Jacksonville, graduating with honors and multiple President’s List distinctions. Her background spans the hospitality, sports, and mortgage sectors, and as Treasurer of the Northeast Florida Astronomical Association she modernized financial systems and secured state fundraising licensure, supporting the group’s STEM outreach. Outside of work, she enjoys amateur astronomy, astrophotography, and songwriting.
