The Pittsburgh Glass Center recently completed a transformative 3-storey expansion, significantly enhancing its facilities and offerings. This new addition included an upgraded ticketing area and gift shop, as well as expanded classrooms and workshops. The top floor featured a state-of-the-art hot shop and an adjacent rooftop terrace, providing a unique space for both creation and relaxation.

This expansion more than doubled the Pittsburgh Glass Center’s previous capacity, enabling it to better accommodate both artists and the public. The project aimed to create a space that was not only highly functional and robust but also showcased the beauty of glass art and the vibrancy of ongoing activities.

Architecturally, the new exterior displayed a range of innovative glass technologies. A faceted colored glass facade created a striking visual impact, while a channel glass screen wall offered both aesthetic appeal and functional privacy. These design elements not only enhanced the building's appearance but also reflected the Center’s commitment to celebrating and showcasing glass artistry.
