Concept Art Gallery
Regent Square, Pittsburgh, PA
Status: Completed 2022
Building Type: Art Gallery
Area: 1,500 SF
Concept Art Gallery expanded its operations by converting an adjacent former theater building into additional gallery space. The building’s facade was transformed with satin metal panels, which provide a sophisticated and understated reflection of the surrounding streetscape and nearby trees. To add a touch of surprise and elegance, the soffit of the original theater canopy was clad in mirror-finish metal panels, creating an intriguing visual effect for both patrons and passersby. The iconic building signage was preserved to maintain the structure’s historic identity.

Inside, the repurposed space now serves as storage for the gallery's rotating collection of auction items and art pieces. This expansion not only enhances the gallery’s functionality but also integrates modern design elements with the building's historical character.
