Ascend Climbing's second location is in Rockwell Park, Point Breeze, Pittsburgh, converting an old industrial building from the Rockwell Manufacturing campus.

To accommodate a 40-foot climbing space, the building was extended upwards with new structural framing. An iconic monitor structure was added to provide vertical climbing space and feature the Ascend logo, enhancing both functionality and visual appeal. Vertical metal panels on the exterior honor the building’s industrial past.

New windows, including a clerestory in the monitor area, brighten the climbing walls. The exterior masonry was restored to maintain historical character, and the original concrete floors were cleaned and sealed for climbing.

​

The facility includes a fitness area, yoga rooms, accessible restrooms, party rooms, and administrative offices, with outdoor patios for classes and events.
